Memorial Day Weekend in St. Augustine

Memorial Day is one of the best times of the year to visit the Sunshine State. Not many cities can nail “fun under the sun” better and brighter than St. Augustine.

We look at how exactly you can have some Memorial Day fun when you stay at our St. Augustine beach rentals.

What Are the Summers Like in St. Augustine?

Summer in St. Augustine is unquestionably spectacular. The temperature typically stays between 85 degrees to 95 degrees during the day, with dips to the 70’s common during the evening and early morning. While this may seem hot to many, St. Augustine is a coastal city. The ocean breeze helps keep the humidity at bay. Furthermore, St. Augustine is near the northern tip of Florida. Compared to south Florida, St. Augustine is a breeze!

Rain is simply part of the Florida life. Fortunately, rainfall rarely lasts more than an hour during the summer. It usually falls around 4 p.m., just the right time for you and your family to transition and prepare for a day on the beach to a night out in the town.

The beaches are varied, with a few popular sites taking up a lot of attention. The most popular stop is St. Augustine Beach proper. But some southern beach spots, like Crescent and Butler Beach south of the city, are far less heavily-trafficked. Both of these quiet beach havens are close to our resorts near St. Augustine, Florida.

The beach water temperature rarely steps outside about 65-75 degrees. The waves are mild, especially compared to the northeast United States. St. Augustine and its beaches are also known for rather long slopes. You could step out quickly far before the water hits above your head!
