Airports Near Ocean Gallery Resort

Ocean Gallery is a resort located at 4600 A1A S, St Augustine, FL on Anastasia Island right off scenic and historic Highway A1A. For just about every traveler visiting from outside the state of Florida, flying into Jacksonville International Airport is likely the best option. This airport is located about 1 hour and 10 minutes from the Ocean Gallery Resort.

The route below features some pleasant scenery as it passes through the western edge of the Twelve Mile Swamp Conservation Area and its vast pine forests and small cypress domes. Toward the end of this route you’ll get to take the famous scenic highway A1A which offers incredible ocean views and goes through Anastasia Island.

Driving Directions from Jacksonville International Airport

Total Distance: 69 miles

  1. From the airport, head east on Airport Rd. and turn right to merge onto I-95 S toward Jacksonville
  2. Take Exit 362 A to merge onto I-295 S
  3. After 10.5 miles keep left to stay onto I-295 S
  4. After 13 miles, keep left at the fork to continue onto FL-9B S and follow signs for US-1/St. Augustine
  5. Stay on FL-9B S for 6 miles, merge onto I-95 S and drive 27 miles
  6. Take Exit 305 for FL-206 toward Hastings/Crescent Beach
  7. Turn left onto FL-206 E toward Crescent Beach
  8. Turn left onto Highway A1A and stop at 4600 A1A S (Ocean Gallery)

Orlando International Airport is another reasonably close option

Flying into Orlando International Airport is another option for those who need to be in the Central Florida area for business or pleasure. The historic sites and natural attractions of Anastasia Island are about 1 hour and 45 minutes away from Orlando International Airport when traffic is minimal.

  1. From the airport, head north on S Access Rd for 2 miles
  2. Use the right lane to merge onto FL-528 E
  3. After 4 miles, take exit 16 on the right for FL-417 N
  4. Stay on FL-417 N for approx. 27 miles
  5. Take Exit 55A on the right to merge onto I-4E toward Daytona Beach
  6. After 30 miles, use the left lane to merge onto I-95 N toward St. Augustine
  7. Take Exit 298 to merge onto US-1 N toward St. Augustine
  8. After 6.5 miles, turn right onto FL-206 E
  9. Turn left onto Highway A1A and stop at 4600 A1A S (Ocean Gallery)

Transportation options from the airport

Renting a vehicle from either airport and driving into St. Augustine is a convenient option and will allow you to fully explore the area at your pleasure, but there are also several buses and trains that run from Orlando and Jacksonville to St. Augustine.

Taxis and Uber/Lyft are another option from Jacksonville, but you can expect to pay a substantial amount, and from Orlando the cost would be much higher.

Once you get to Ocean Gallery Resort, you can get around much of Anastasia Island and St. Augustine using taxis, buses and trolley tours if you prefer to avoid driving.
