This amazing historic home has been well preserved since 1798 where it was originally built as a merchant’s home and a place of business within the community. In later years, the home became known in the community as “Miss Fatio’s,” a fashionable boarding house. Today this coquina stone home is a historical house museum which has been very carefully restored to preserve authenticity and historical accuracy and reflect its unique story.
Ximenez Fatio House Museum Events
The Ximenez Fatio House has hosted all kinds of amazing events. Last year the town of St. Augustine came together to celebrate 450 years as a community full of rich history and culture and the Ximenez Fatio House was part of the celebration. An archeological dig also took place last year. There are always daily tours taking place for tourists who are interested in learning more about the lives of people who lived in St. Augustine in the 1800’s in particular.
Interested parties are welcome to host their own events in the beautiful courtyards and surrounding grounds. Events such as weddings, receptions, anniversary parties, family reunions, corporate events, and concerts have taken place at the Ximenez Fatio House. It can accommodate 200 guests with access to a kitchen, electricity and plenty of private parking.
