1. Pizzalley’s and the Chianti Room

A longstanding favorite amongst locals and tourists alike, Pizzalley’s is a premier place to pick up pizza if you find yourself in downtown St. Augustine.

Located on St. George Street, in the heart of St. Augustine’s historic district, Pizzalley’s offers brick oven pizza, made from scratch. Their list of toppings is extensive, and their portions are large.

You can choose gourmet pizza by the slice or order a custom pie for the whole family. Like their name implies, Pizzalley’s is located in a narrow, alley-like building off of historic St. George Street. Though the store front is small, it is easy to find.

Follow your nose toward towards the savory smell of pizza and look for a smiling sampler offering tastes of their brick oven pizza. This popular pizzeria can easily get crowded; if you are looking for a sit-down dining experience, you can walk through the back of Pizzalley’s into their Chianti Room, a full service Italian restaurant that serves their gourmet pies.

Pizzalley’s is at 117 St. George St, St. Augustine, FL 32084.

It may surprise you that one of the best spots for Pizza in St. Augustine is housed inside a gas station, but try a bit of Carmelo’s pizza and you will be hooked!

Carmelo’s serves up New York style pizza with Old World sensibilities. If you are visiting Flagler College, Whetstone’s Chocolate Factory, or the Lightner Museum, Carmelo’s is a convenient and tasty spot for lunch.

In addition to brick oven pizza, Carmelo’s also serves hearty salads, calzones, traditional pasta dishes like baked ziti, and paninis and sandwiches featuring Boars Head Meats. In recent years, Pizza Time earned national acclaim from TripAdvisor by ranking as the second best pizza place in United States. Pizza Time is located in the heart of St. George Street, a busy pedestrian shopping destination in the Oldest City.

This pizzeria has a cult following with locals and remains a favorite spot with tourists, as well. Pizza Time is almost always busy, and it is not uncommon to see a line down the block of hungry faces looking for a slice of thin crust, New York Style pizza.

Though they offer cannoli and calzones, Pizza Time is famous for their pies. Here, they sell pizza only by the slice. Be sure to carry cash if you are dining at Pizza Time: they do not accept credit cards, although they do have an ATM on site.
