St. Augustine Water Sports

What better way to have a thrilling St. Augustine vacation than via the water?

Between jet skis and canoes, small eco-tours through the waterways and big sailing journeys, St. Augustine loves to bask in the excitement of water sports.

Thankfully, with our variety of intimate and spacious, St. Augustine beachfront condo rentals, you are always a hop and a skip away from the water. So what can you do on the water for your upcoming trip?

Raging Water Sports

It is all about the jet skis at Raging Water Sports. The premiere water cruiser is the Yamaha VX 110, an ideal and accessible ride for non-seasoned enthusiasts. Visitors will cruise along the intercoastal waterway, hitting the Matanzas River on a southern trip and/or the Tolomato River on a northern trip. Tours are typically about two hours and consist of a group as small as two and as large as around 12. You can see some of the area’s top attractions from the water, including notable romps by Fort Matanzas and Guana State Park.

If you aren’t absolute fans of wave runners and jet skis, you can go on a low-key on a 20-foot pontoon boat. This is the perfect way to see firsthand the exuberant marine life of coastal St. Augustine, consisting of ospreys, spoonbills, and the always-famous bottle-nosed dolphin.

Raging Water Sports is tucked away off US1 at 220 Nix Boat Yard Rd. Hours change seasonally. You will find it open every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during spring and summer. Fall and early winter hours roll back to Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The provider is closed from December 1st to mid-February. Reservations are required.

Stoked to Surf

Stoked to Surf is a bit different from your standard jet ski or pontoon boat rental service. This local favorite is an accessible entry-point for the world of surfing. It is, in fact, a surf school.

Students will learn water safety, paddling techniques, how to stand on a board, and anything else to improve their surfing skills. Private lessons and parties are available for surf lovers needing some special training and assistance.

Stoked to Surf is open for ages 7 and up. Classes are booked by the week. It runs from 8:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Monday through Friday. Regardless of age, attendees should expect to pay about $150 for the week.

The experience is wonderful. Everyone who attends receives a goodie bag and lunch. Other items may be provided, such as sunblock and towels, but it is recommended you bring some of these vital necessities along for the day. Necessary equipment, like boards, will be provided.

Stoked to Surf is geared towards children and teens. Reservations are required and sign-up is available online. The surf camp runs the above noted hours starting in June and ending in August. The team meets at 883 Ervin S.

Anastasia Watersports

Have a blast soaring through the water at Anastasia Watersports at Anastasia State Park. The provider leans towards accessibility, offering families a chance to join in the water adventures together. The main items available are kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, and sailboats, with prices varying from about $20 to $55. Each type caters to a different kind of person. For example, standup paddleboards require a little extra balance and care, with one per board, while canoes glide peacefully and calmly over the water for up to three. Anastasia State Park has a variety of things to do on land and water, including hiking, bird watching, guided nature tours, and more.

Unlike the above providers, reservations are not required. Arrive on-site at 850 Anastasia Park Rd from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and have a lovely time by the city’s best beach.
