The Tournament Players Club at Sawgrass, or TPC Sawgrass, is considered one of the most beautifully maintained and renowned courses in the world. The Players Championship, a flagship PGA Tour major tournament, has been hosted at Sawgrass since 1982. This major tournament has provided some of professional golf’s best memories in recent years, including Tiger Woods’ dramatic win in 2013.
Murray Bros. Caddyshack Tournament
The Murray Brothers’ Caddyshack Tournament at World Golf Village might be the antecedent to The Players’ Championship. Join celebrity actor Bill Murray and his equally hilarious brothers for a weekend of golf, food, and drinks – without the pressure to perform like Phil Mickelson. Proceeds from the event go towards local charities that focus on bettering health and education services across the country. This event doesn’t take itself too seriously, as should be expected by the brothers who created the movie Caddyshack.
With all this scenic beauty in St. Augustine, it’d be a shame if you didn’t get to witness it all. Fortunately, there are plenty of accessible trails around the area that allow you to get up close and personal with the many natural wonders of the region. Nothing can be more relaxing than a morning run through Old City that takes you to the beach, and then Castillo de San Marcos National Monument. There’s a jaunt or a jog out there waiting for you.
