A St. Augustine summer night is truly a sight to behold. Sultry and quiet, with the moonlight shining off the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, as the waves slap against beautiful sandy beaches—this is why we live here, and this is why you will want to come back summer after summer!
The days are pretty awesome as well, stretching endlessly before you with a multitude of choices. Should you browse the aisles of the First Coast Arts & Craft Show, featuring the finest in hand crafted items by the best local artists? What about spending a day at the St Augustine Alligator Farm & Zoological Park? Zip lining across seven acres of alligators and crocodiles sunning themselves just under your dangling feet kind of gets your heart pumping, doesn’t it?
Maybe you just want to spend the day on St. Augustine Beach, frolicking in the waters, sunning yourself on the beaches, and just relaxing to the music of nature. All of these activities and so many more will make your St. Augustine vacation the best you’ve ever had! We’ve compiled a list of activities guaranteed to keep a smile on your face. We love living in the oldest city in the nation and we think you will have the time of your life here!
Nights in St. Augustine offer the chance to listen to live music on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Music by the Sea takes place every Wednesday from 6-9 PM, May through October, on St. Johns County Pier, and features local bands and food from local restaurants. Thursdays, from June through September, Concerts in the Plaza is a happy way to spend an evening. No alcohol is allowed, but feel free to being a picnic dinner! The concerts are held at the Plaza de la Constitucion.
History is fascinating, and if you have children, the St. Augustine Pirate & Treasure Museum will engage their interest as they are being educated! Another educational extravaganza is the Oldest Wooden School House, a colonial home dating back to the early 1700’s in which the school master and his wife lived and taught. The classroom features rare school antiques, a drinking well, and a privy.
It only makes sense that the oldest city in the United States would be haunted, don’t you think? GhoST Augustine offers you the opportunity to visit local haunted spots and learn the stories behind the haunting, while also allowing you to use the tools and equipment professional ghost hunters use when on the hunt.
